Welcome from the Chairs of the conference
It is with huge pleasure we invite submissions of extended abstracts for this first virtual IWA Nutrient Removal and Recovery 2020. Due to the changes in conference dates we now offer a second round for abstract submission in May 2020. The IWA NRR Specialist Group is tackling the key challenge of wastewater treatment – how to transform efficient nutrient removal processes into carbon neutral recovery facilities. Building on the 2017 NRR/LWWTP conference held in China and the 2018 NRR conference held in Brisbane, Australia, NRR2020 will take a big step and go virtual this time. The coordination of the conference is from Finland and we would have loved to see you all here in person, but now we will share success stories of the protection of Baltic Sea on-line and invite you to enjoy the lacy coast with thousands of islands and bays virtually. Despite the challenges we are experiencing everywhere in the world at the moment, we are really excited about this possibility to create a totally new NRR conference which will be more sustainable, more accessible and more interactive. Together we will construct something that combines all the best parts of our previous conferences – we are looking forward to having a drink with you in our virtual conference bar – and brings new ways to meet people and discover our field – join us for the virtual 3D WWTP excursion!
The Program Committee is calling for abstracts of original, high-quality and previously unpublished research in the theory, practice, and application of Nutrient Removal and Recovery. NRR2020 will focus on applied research and applications of technologies in the design, operation, and optimization of nutrient removal and recovery systems.
We are looking forward to your contribution to the exciting forum IWA NRR2020!
